Earthquake drill on January 17th

Hello, everyone.
Today is January 17, the day that a very big earthquake occurred 30 years ago in Hyogo Prefecture where the school is located and we held an earthquake drill at the school.
After the radio exercises were over, the children were about to return to their classrooms, chatting with their friends, we started the drill by playing the earthquake alert. The teacher quickly gathered the children in the center of the play yard and told them to keep their posture low and cover their heads to protect from falling objects. The children who had almost returned to their classrooms hurriedly evacuated the building. After a while, the shaking subsided, and the teacher told the children what to do in case of an earthquake, sharing her own experience at the time of the earthquake. The children listened to the story earnestly and were able to review what they should and should not do when evacuating. At the end of the class, everyone observed a moment of silence in remembrance of those who suffered from the earthquake 30 years ago. After the drill, teachers held a review meeting to discuss how they should have moved away from the fence a little more. You never know when or
if an earthquake will strike. Let’s be sure to train on a regular basis so that you can protect yourself.
