Learning while exercising
Hello, everyone!
There were loud cheers from the Elephant class and we wondered what they were doing in what was supposed to be a Phonics lesson. There were two teams of children playing a game of catch. The rule is that after saying the rhyming words written by the teacher, the ball is thrown into the partner’s bag. The catcher opens the bag wide and waits for the ball to go inside. There are three sizes of bags, and the smallest plastic bag seems to be very difficult to catch.
Did you know that exercise actually plays a role in improving memory? It is said that when you exercise, a brain substance called “noelpinephrine” is secreted. This helps memory retention by creating a smooth network of nerves in the brain, and is also thought to be involved in arousal, concentration, motivation, and flexibility of thought.
The children were just actively participating in the game, but isn’t it amazing that the teachers were actually using an effective method to consolidate their vocabulary?!
