Hello, everyone! K1クラスでは今週からリーディングの時間が始まりました。ご存知の通り言葉の習得はまず『聞く』ことから始まります。蛇口から勢いよく流れる水をバケツで受け止めるようにたくさん言葉を溜めていき、それが溢れ出る時に、第二段階の『話す』に移行します。口語で言葉のやり取りを繰り返すと文字に興味が出てきます。これが第三段階の『読む』につながるのです。クラスでは指でしっかり文字を確認しながら、そしてこれまで学んできたフォニックスのルールとサイトワードの知識を使いながら、読み進めていきます。Ducklingのお友達は、『読める』楽しみを知り始めたところです。

Reading lesson has officially started in the K1 class this week! As you may know, language acquisition always begins with “listening.”　Just like catching water pouring from a wide-open tap into a bucket, children fill their minds with words until they finally overflow, which marks the transition to the second stage: “speaking.” Through active spoken interactions, children naturally develop a curiosity about letters and written words. This curiosity then paves the way for the third stage: “reading.” The children are guided to trace each word carefully with their fingers. They also use the phonics rules and sight words they have learned so far. Our Duckling friends are just starting to discover the joy of being able to read!
