Hello, everyone! スクールにはいろいろなおもちゃがあります。上の学年限定のおもちゃもありますが、みんながたくさん集まる多目的ホールにはどの年齢のお友達も一緒に遊べるおもちゃを用意するようにしています。今日の午後もクラス名以外のお友達ともおもちゃを共有して遊ぶ姿が見受けられました。小さなお友達はお兄さんお姉さんがどのようにおもちゃを使って遊んでいるのかを観察し、マネをしようとしていますね。また、上の学年の子ども達は、小さなお友達も一緒に遊べるよう声をかけたりお手伝いをしたりしてくれています。みんないい笑顔ですね！異年齢のかかわりは子ども達の社会性をはぐくむことに大きく影響しているようです。

The school has a variety of toys. While some toys are reserved for older children, we make sure to provide toys in the hall—where many children gather—that children of all ages can play with together. This afternoon, we saw children playing and sharing toys with friends from other classes. The younger children were observing how the older kids were using the toys and trying to imitate them. The older children, in turn, were inviting the younger ones to join in and helping them so that everyone could play together. Everyone has such lovely smiles! It seems that these mixed-age interactions are having a significant impact on the children’s social development.
