みなさんはcとgには2つの音があるのを知っていましたか？フォニックスのルールではhard c, soft cという言い方で区別をします。主なhard cサウンドの単語は’cat’があります。soft cサウンドの例としては’city’が挙げられます。Elephant classの子ども達はそれぞれの音の違いをゼスチャーを交えて学んでみました。 ハードサウンドのゼスチャーは腕を曲げてグッと力を入れながら/c, c, c/、ソフトサウンドは可愛くほっぺにcの形で手を当てて/s, s, s/と発音してみました。Emily先生が見せてくれるカードはどっちの音かな？みんなでポーズを決めながら練習しました。

Did you know that there are two sounds for letter c and g? In phonics, we call them hard c and soft c. One of the word with a hard c sound is ‘cat’. An example of a soft c sound is ‘city’.
The children in the Elephant class learned the difference between the two sounds using gestures. For the hard sound, they bent their arms and made a strong /c, c, c/ sound, while for the soft sound, they placed their hands on their cheeks in the shape of a “c” prittily and made a /s, s, s/ sound.
Everyone answered the sounds written on the cards that Ms. Emily showed them while striking poses. Good job!
