Hello, everyone!今週も元気に始まりましたね。さて、スクールでは先月から新しい仲間（？）が加わっています。それは玄関の飼育ケースにいるクワガタです。とっても大きくて力が強そうです。子ども達は生き物が大好きで、いつも興味深そうにケースを除いています。そんなクワガタですが、今日園長先生がお世話をするためにふたを開けると、なんとオスのクワガタががっしりと木片を挟み込んでいました！これはなかなかないチャンス！ということで、先生はおやつを食べ終わったお友達に店に行くことにしましたよ。みんなすぐに寄ってきてクワガタがどうやってものを挟んでいるか観察することができました。中にはじっと観察した後、”Is this real or a toy?”なんて聞いてくるお友達もいました。これからも観察の機会を持って、クワガタの生態をもっと知っていきたいと思います。The new week has started! We have a new member (?) has joined our school since last month.They are stag beetles in the breeding cases at the entrance. They are very big and looks very strong. The children love the creature and always look at the case with great interest.Today, when Ms. Amy opened the lid to take care of them, she found a male stag beetle clutching a piece of wood tightly! This is a rare opportunity! So she decided to go to the hall to show the moment to the children who had finished their snack. Children came right up to her and were able to observe how the stag beetle was pinching things. Some of them observed closely and then asked, “Is this real or a toy?”We would like to have more opportunities to observe stag beetles and learn more about their ecology in the future.
