Hello, everyone!
今月は”Our World”（私たちを取り巻く世界）について学んでいます。K1クラスでは大きな世界地図をみんなに見てもらいました。みんなが住んでいる日本はどこかな？Eric先生や、クラスメイトの家族が住んでいる国は？などと質問しながらみんなで世界中のたくさんの国を見つけていきました。次に登場したのは国旗です。国の象徴として世界中の国には必ず国旗があります。それぞれ色や描かれているシンボルが異なりますね。子ども達の中には昨年夏のオリンピックで見た国旗を覚えている子もいてびっくり！世界への扉は子ども達の身近にあるようです。
This month we are learning about “Our World” (the world around us) and K1 class teachers showed a world map to the children. The teacher asked children “Where is Japan, where you live?” or “Where do you think Mr. Eric or our classmates’ families live in?” and they tried to find many countries on the map. Next up was the introduction of national flags. As a symbol of a country, every country in the world has a national flag. Each has different colors and symbols depicted on it. Surprisingly some of the children remembered the flags they saw at the Olympics last summer! It seems that the door to the world is close at their hand.
